As world leaders gather at the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, it is important to be aware of local campaign groups; the work they are doing to reduce the carbon footprint of their areas and the practical ideas that can be put into action by individual households.
Hambledon Greening are a group aiming to reduce the Carbon footprint of Hambledon in response to global concerns about environmental issues.
Their lead adviser is the national Greening Campaign, a structured approach which guides communities through a process. It also shares best practice to give local campaigns the best chance of success as they progress towards sustainability.
Hambledon Greening also take advice from organisations such as Community Energy South, The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Winchester Action on Climate Change and the Sustainability Centre, sharing discussions and events with Hambledon’s Ecochurch campaign which is part of the Church of England’s aim of being Carbon Zero by 2030.
